Hog Sauce

Even the best pulled pork deserves to be served with a sweet, tangy and flavorful barbecue sauce. Unlike traditional sauces, hog sauce is much thinner and is intended to be mixed through the pork meat

What you will need

  • 1 ½ cups apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Method

1. Add all ingredients into a medium sized sauce pan and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.

2. Simmer for 5 minutes, ensuring that all ingredients are well incorporated.

3. Sauce can be used while warm, or when cooled. Sauce will keep for a week in the refrigerator, in an air tight container.
