Carolina Gold sauce

Recently I shared a recipe for Alabama white sauce, which is a mayonnaise-based sauce that is fantastic for chicken, pork, and everything in between. You can check out that recipe Here.

Carolina Gold is a mustard-based barbecue sauce, that brings together just the right amount of tang and sweetness, with a little bit of heat. It is super simple to make, but don't let that fool you. This sauce is a great way to really pump up the flavors at your next barbecue.

Carolina Gold can be used as a sauce with all kinds of meats, in the same way, that you would use a more traditional barbecue sauce. For me though, it really comes into its own when served with beef. At my house, I treat it much the same as I would treat horseradish with beef. It's great on sandwiches, on the side for dipping, or as the base for a glaze.

What you will need

  • 1 cup of your favorite yellow mustard (prepared)
  • 2 T Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 T honey
  • 1 T Ketchup
  • 1 T Hot sauce
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 t garlic powder

  • Method

1.In a bowl, whisk all ingredients until well incorporated.

2.Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
